Proposal title: Rural EuroAfrica Collaboration to Transition SSA
REACT: Rural EuroAfrica Collaboration to Transition is a transformative initiative aimed at empowering young people and women in rural areas of Andalusia (Spain), Casamance (Senegal), and Emuhaya (Kenya).
The project addresses digital exclusion, unemployment, gender inequality, and climate-related challenges by equipping participants with digital skills, entrepreneurship training, and opportunities in the green economy. It fosters a just and inclusive transition toward digital and sustainable economies, focus on rural areas.
REACT have three key objectives: enhancing digital empowerment by providing ICT training and internet access, fostering green entrepreneurship through business incubation and mentorship in sectors such as agriculture, eco-tourism, and renewable energy, and strengthening civic engagement by equipping youth and women with digital tools for democratic participation and advocacy.
The project will train 75 beneficiaries (25 per country) in digital literacy, develop 15 microenterprises (5 per country) with access to financial support, and prepare 20 youth workers through a Training of Trainers program. It will also establish business incubators in rural communities to support sustainable enterprises and facilitate cross-border networking and policy engagement to promote systemic change.
REACT is based on previous projects carried out by the consortium partners. This gives it an in-depth knowledge of the needs and opportunities of REACT’s target areas and beneficiaries. By bridging the digital divide, promoting gender equality, and fostering sustainable entrepreneurship, REACT empowers youth and women to be agents of economic and social transformation, contributing to resilient and thriving rural communities across Europe and Africa
